PSYCHOLOGY OF FITNESS

According to the transtheoretical model of change, there are six stages of behavior change.

  1. Pre contemplation stage:- At this stage people are not yet aware of the negative behavior they need to change
  2. Contemplation stage:- People are now aware and want that change
  3. Preparatory stage :- The motivation of the person is high
  4. Action stage :- Goal are made and accomplished
  5. Maintenance stage:- It requires persistence. Regularity, Fitness become a way of living
  6. Relapse stage only conditional thou this is the most common.

Physical activity keeps the body strong and healthy and can improve mental health by decreasing symptoms of depression, anxiety, pain and loneliness. Physical activity can also improve focus, school performance, sleep and energy levels.
