Types of Speed


“Real”

Before we head towards the type of speed we should understand the 3 types of muscle fiber. These are fast twitch : sprint , slow twitch : marathon and the last one is oxidative type IIb. So the best sprinters have inherited most fast twitch fibers there is no way to increase the amount of these fibers as they are inherited.

Types of speed: Speed is an essential component of physical fitness that helps an individual to perform well in sports. There are five types of speed as under:

Reaction ability: respond of the body to acoustic. 100m clapper.🏃‍♂️

Movement speed : amount of power generated in a single movement either contraction or relaxation.

Acceleration: Is a type of co-ordinated ability. Walk to run.

Locomotor ability: Walking, running, jumping, hopping, crawling, marching, climbing, galloping, sliding, leaping, hopping and skipping. LIFESKILLS.
